The Groundhog Lied!!!

Waking up to 4 inches of snow is never a good thing.

Waking up to 4 inches of snow and having to shovel a 50 foot driveway – even worse. Somehow it only took me 45 minutes, including the sidewalk in front of 3 houses. Go me!!

So last night I was finally able to catch an episode of Celebrity Apprentice. And it wasn’t too bad; in fact, there was what seemed to be extended Ivanka time on the show so you know I was more interested in the show than I probably should have been. Her voice borders on being raspy, yet refined. If she ever decides to hold a business seminar, I am soooo there!!
The episode last night has a project they’ve done before – visiting QVC studios and coming up with a sales pitch. Initially the teams had to pick the product they wanted to sell. Of course of the 6 items to choose from, they both wanted the step ladder that converts into a hand truck as well. Pierce, Marilou, Lennox & Carol (the teams have now been mixed together) won a coin toss and the right to sell the ladder/hand truck. Tito, Stephen, Omarosa & Trace chose a cordless vaccum to put on display. The PMs were Stephen and Marilou.
Being that it was only a 10 minutes spot, the show went quick. Each team came up with a sales pitch with their appointed QVC host, practiced it a bit and then went on live tv.
Once the cameras started rolling, it seemed like Marilou forgot her ADD meds, as she was all over the place, extolling the benefits and features of her product. Trace on the other hand, was way subdued in talking about the vaccum, and if not for him standing upright, we wouldn’t know if he was asleep or not. The biggest error for Marilou’s team was not utilizng the EZ pay system like the other team did. They offered a 5 month payment plan while you had to pay in full for the ladder. Consequently that was a major error in strategy.
Marilou pulled in Lennox and Piers with her to the boardroom. Carol wasn’t there which was surprising since she had worked for/with QVC, yet never mentioned the EZ pay option to the group. When asked about it, she hesitated for a split second before saying she knew nothing about it at all. As is the case with most failed projects, the PM is responsible for everything, hence the PM title, and Marilou, though a Trump favorite, got the boot.
