There’s a “silent” auction going on in the College right now. A couple of things that are interesting that I may actually bid on – VIP tickets to Regis and Kelly [even though they didn't pick the Kelster for their Baby contest], 2 sets of 4 box tickets to a NY Mets game which I think includes the subway series!!, a boxed set of the Harry Potter series and by boxed I mean in a chest that opens and locks. I just wiki’d silent auction and apparently they are running it correctly. When I saw silent auction, I thought you write in your bid and put it in a box then at the end, the highest bidder wins. No. That’s called a Chinese auction. So the method they have now, which is write your name, extension and your bid all on a sheet of paper, is correct, if not retarded. I mean, everyone sees your bid, and the minimum to outbid is a dollar. I need to get there at about 3:45, just before they end at 4PM, and outbid people Ebay style.
They only take cash or check and I don’t have my checkbook. There’s no way I’m taking money out of the Chase atm since they raised the fee to $3. You read that right. $3. Highway robbery I tell ya.
