I think it’s week 3 that I’m up to. Right??
As usual, no dinners got served up. Dysfunctional much? I’d say so, but that’s what makes it so watchable at times. You never think they can sink any lower than they have, yet they do something that makes you think, could that really happen in a kitchen. Any kitchen for that matter. And the answer quite simply is yes, yes it can.
The potentials were greeted with live chickens in their living area. After chasing them down, they all went to the kitchen where Chef schools them on the art of cutting up a chicken. It dawns on me that every episode has a watch and learn portion - but if they’re all chefs/have cooking experience, shouldn’t they already know how to filet a fish [last week] or carve up a chicken [this week]? I mean these are simple tasks that get done on a frequent basis in most kitchens right? Well Craig fails miserably - 2 out of 8 pieces pass muster - and the men end up picking peppers in the hot Cali sun while the women enjoy brunch in Hollywood.
That night, Jason self destructs as he can’t remember any of the desserts. He gets pulled back in by Louross and only after a complete dressing down by the Chef, does Jason remember what he’s supposed to be making and heads to his station. Like other weeks, plenty of raw food, overcooked food, incomplete orders, orders taking too long - pretty much the same as prior weeks.
Jason and Vanessa get put up for elimination and Chef knocks out another guy, as Jason declared himself done on numerous occasions when he couldn’t remember the menu. Chef agreed with him this time around.
